Kit Contents

IMG_5799The NomNom GameKit contains a number of board-game elements you can use to make a paper prototype of a game about food. These paper prototypes can be used to test ideas for both board and digital games. By combining elements that guide game design, and food related information, the NomNom GameKit is an ideal way to explore creating new experiences that improve our understanding about food-related topics including nutrition, policy, safety, and more.

Each kit contains the following items:

Over 250 playing card templates
There are food cards divided into key groups and their are action cards designed specifically around game mechanics. Think of the food cards as nouns, and the action cards as verbs.

Wooden Chips
100 Wooden Chips are included with each kit. You can use stickers to label each chip. Chips can be used to represent anything including a specific food, a cooking implement, a condition, and more.

Colored Cubes & Meeples
A variety of colored cubes, and Meeples make it easy to add common game elements like player avatars, resource management, etc.

MyPlates
The USDA MyPlate is a great means of helping people understand diversity in their diets, portion size, and more. Each kit contains 8 plates you can use as potential props in your game. Our food cards color match to the plates making it easy for people to interface game elements to each other.

Game Boards
Basic game boards offer easy ways to design game interactions between multiple players.  Boards include simple grids, a human body, and an abstract board design for “crafting” style game play.

Pens/Pencils
We even throw in some Sharpies, and pencils to make it easy to do the labeling of items.
